Roadshows in Basildon, Chelmsford, Colchester and Harlow are giving parents and carers free access to support for special educational needs and disabilities (SEND).
The Essex Local Offer recommends expert help and services for children and young people up to the age of 25 with SEND.
As well as support with education, activities, health and wellbeing, the Essex Local Offer provides information on employment and training opportunities.
Parents and carers are invited to attend the Essex Local Offer roadshows between 9:00am and 11:45am on the following dates:
Attendees will be able to discover local support such as parent groups, meet other carers and parents, find out about help available in schools and learn about different services.
Councillor Tony Ball, Cabinet Member for Education Excellence, Lifelong Learning and Employability, said: “It’s important we physically go to our local communities through these roadshows so every parent and carer can access free SEND support for children and young people.
“As well as learning from experts and discovering support services, meeting fellow parents and carers in similar situations can go a long way. You can make real connections and find local groups you never knew existed.
“I strongly encourage every parent and carer of young people with SEND to see what these roadshows can do for you. You can also visit our new Essex Local Offer website to access a wide range of guidance and services.”
