All businesses in the UK are at risk of being affected by flooding even if they are not near a river or the sea. Flooding is the biggest issue which may cause disruption or damage to a business, and according to estimates flooding accounts for 33% of losses to property.

Businesses can sign up to flood warnings online to be made aware if there is likely to be a flood risk in their area.

There are also a number of other ways of being as prepared as possible for floods, including drawing up a flood plan or assigning a designated member of staff to deal with flood related issues.
