Beat the heat

A red weather warning has been issued by the Met Office for next Monday and Tuesday, due to exceptionally high temperatures. Whilst many of us are enjoying the warm weather, the sun and extreme heat can also present a challenge to many and is a risk to health.

Top ways to stay safe during a heatwave:

  • Make sure you look out for vulnerable people and those with underlying health conditions

  • Keep hydrated, drink plenty of water and avoid alcohol

  • Avoid going out in the hottest part of the day, and stick to the shade and colder spaces

  • Wear loose clothing to keep cool and a hat when going out in the sun to avoid sun stroke

  • Be aware that pets may suffer from the heat as much as we do, and ensure they have a cool place to rest

You can also sign up for updates from the Met Office on their website.

Please do share this with your communities.
