Braintree District Cycling Strategy

The Braintree District Economic Development team are reviewing the Implementation Plan of the Cycling Strategy devised in September 2021, in order to make cycling in the Braintree district safer, more convenient and desirable. Cycling and walking play an important part in improving physical and mental health, and also reduce our impact on the environment and ease congestion on our roads.

In 2021, the Economic Development team ran a public engagement exercise on the priorities of the strategy and an area that was highlighted was Cycle Parking. We would like to produce a map of cycle parking in the district but need your help to identify where the parking is within your ward. We realise this is a large undertaking but would be grateful for any information you are able to provide. The cycle parking needs to be open to the public i.e. not at a business but perhaps outside a shop or at a park.

We would also appreciate further information on each cycle park with regards to number of spaces, if the parking area is covered and if there are any other features that would be useful such as CCTV. We would be grateful if you would be able to email the Economic Development team by Friday 25 February 2022.
