Braintree Street markets making a return

We are excited to announce we have started re-introducing our popular Braintree Street Market, which started from last Saturday and will be back every month with additional dates over Christmas, as COVID legal restrictions have now lifted.

We will gradually start inviting more traders back to encourage more people back into the town centre, to spend time, socialise and help boost trade for local businesses.

  • Saturday 25th September (subject to National Restrictions)

  • Saturday 30th October (subject to National Restrictions)

  • Saturday 20th November - Christmas Light Switch on 2021 (subject to National Restrictions)

  • Saturday 4th December (subject to National Restrictions)

  • Saturday 18th December (subject to National Restrictions)

Due to the current pedestrianisation construction work taking place in Braintree town centre, there will be a limited number of stalls in the areas which are open for pedestrian use across the town centre. Once the pedestrianisation scheme works are complete soon, this will help provide a bigger and more vibrant stall offer for future markets, incorporating built-in seating, more electricity supplies to allow for more stalls, trees and more litter bins.

Keep up to date on the latest news and more details of the street markets via our Visit Braintree District website or via our dedicated Instagram page.

If you know of any local market traders or local businesses who may be interested in becoming stallholders at the market, they can contact us on 01376 552525 or fill in the application form online at www.braintree.gov.uk/streetmarkets.
