Funding opportunities

There are a number of funding opportunities available at the moment for local communities, charities or organisations. This is the perfect opportunity to make ideas a reality or launch new schemes which benefit the whole community.

Community Challenge Fund open for applications

Essex County Council have launched their Community Challenge Fund for community projects in their levelling up areas (including rural Braintree), with grants between £300-£5,000 available to individuals, groups or charities.

Find Your Active fund

The London Marathon Charitable Trust is powering a further Find Your Active small grant programme. The funding will support projects Essex-wide that will help residents lead active and healthy lives. The fund is for organisations who are willing and able to take immediate action.

Essex County Council’s Arts and Cultural Fund

This fund from Essex County Council's Arts and Cultural Fund is designed to support the creative sector by awarding grants between £2,500 and £30,000.

Cultural organisations can apply from Tuesday 1 November to Wednesday 30 November, for help with funding for project to help deliver exhibitions, events and activities in 2023 to engage communities and benefit residents.

High Sheriffs’ Fund

Charities and voluntary groups who are working on projects keeping people safe from harm, helping victims of crime or delivering activities that are making their local communities safer places, are being given the chance to apply for funding to support their work.

The deadline to make applications for the latest round of grants is Thursday 1 December 2022.

Fund to create warm and welcoming spaces

Organisations across Essex can apply for a new Community Winter Warmth and Welcome Spaces Fund.

The fund offers grants of up to £1,000 so organisations can create new spaces or activities, or extend their existing services. It is open to charities, clubs or associations, community interest companies and town and parish councils.
