If residents have chosen to vote by post but have run out of time to send it back to us by mail, they can also:

  • drop off their postal vote at our offices at Causeway House, Bocking End in Braintree

  • or at any polling station operating in their parliamentary constituency area by 10pm on 4 July.

If they do this, they will need to sign a form giving their name and address in order to validate the postal vote. This is due to recent changes as part of the Elections Act 2022.

And don't forget photo ID!

Residents need to have photo ID in order to vote at a polling station on 4 July.

A full list of accepted forms of photo ID can be found on the Electoral Commission website here: https://www.electoralcommission.org.uk/voting-and-elections/voter-id/accepted-forms-photo-id

Results

General election results will be published on our website once declarations are announced: www.braintree.gov.uk/electionresults (please note this page is not live yet).

They will also be published on our Facebook and X (formerly Twitter) channels.
