WEEE - Waste Electrical and Electronic equipment
Recycling small electrical items (known as WEEE, Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) such as toasters, hairdryers or radios is very easy. They can be dropped off at your local library, where they will then be taken to be repaired and given a new lease of life, or recycled in the proper manner.
During the pandemic, when the libraries temporarily suspended the WEEE recycling bins at their locations, we offered an additional service so residents could bring their small WEEE to drop-off points around the district on a four weekly cycle. As restrictions have now been lifted and libraries are open again, this service will stop from 10 August 2022.
This is a great way to support the environment and prevent items from going into landfill.
