We are celebrating World Mental Health Day (Sunday 10th October) and for 2021 the theme is around "mental health in an unequal world".

We would like to invite you to a range of events which are taking place during that week across the Braintree District, to support you and your family’s mental health:

  • Walk and Talk event for men in Witham on 10th October in Witham – Join the Walk and Talk 4 men group and have a stroll around Witham whilst having a chat in a safe place without judgement! It gives men the opportunity to offload, get things off our chest and talk about how we are feeling rather than bottling it up and suffering in silence.

  • Virtual Dog Walk at Great Notley Discovery Centre on Friday 8th October - You don’t need to have a dog to attend just bring a smile and let Julie Payne & Gary Brown know via Julie.Payne@eastlighthomes.co.uk . If you are going to attend one of the walks. Remember to take pictures or videos when you are out and about and send them through to chad.nugent@eastlighthomes.co.uk

  • Mindful art session at Braintree Town hall on Saturday 9th October –10am to 2pm - We're sponsoring a session by Braintree Rethink Self-help Art Group, a free mindful art session where you can create a beautiful canvas painting which will then go on to be displayed at our offices in Causeway House.

  • ACL offers some free online courses such as felting, flower arranging, learning a new language which people could attend at their own leisure.
